On the lake

There are a number of bathing areas to choose from around Lake Asasjön, one of which boasts a child-friendly beach and a long floating marina. Its located approx. 400 metres from the youth hostel. See the current water temperature in the reception.

Canoes

Rent a canoe and enjoy the calmness and the sunset on the lake. Or why not paddle south and enjoy Frunas Hage’s heavenly pancakes for lunch or tea? Are you up for bigger challenges, go for the canoe trail Asa-Hissö. It will take you about 5 days and give you plenty of Swedish wilderness. Shelters and campingsites are situated along the trail, but be sure to bring enough food.

If you would like to go southwards to Evedal, Växjö you will pass the southern most lockage of Sweden in Åby. Plan for at least one night in the open. We can organize to have you picked up, if you only wish to paddle one way.

For more information, visit Kanotguiden. Trails 20, 27 & 28 pass Asa.

Fishing & Boating

We rent motorboats for fishing trips and also sell fishing permits. Buying a fishing permit for Lake Asasjön, you automatically get a permit for Hökasjön, Bråtasjön, Tolgsjön and Skavenässjön. In Asasjön you can catch pike, perch, roach, and of course crayfish. During the crayfish season, we offer a package including accommodation, boar, cages, bait and fishing permits.
